STYLECRAFT Instinct Clipper - Primera Generación

StyleCraft has implemented a limited recall on the Instinct Clipper in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. This recall only applies to the early versions of the clipper. The battery in the clipper can overheat posing a fire hazard. See below for instructions on how to determine if your clipper is impacted.

Directions on how to determine the impacted products and replacement instructions:


All Instinct Clipper units have a model number that can be easily identified by the user. Turning the clipper over to the back reveals various marking. Next to the word "China" there is a 4 digit code (ex: 40-23)

If your Instinct Clipper contains the model number SC607M and has one of the Lot Numbers below, then your clipper is part of the recall. StyleCraft will replace the battery in your clipper at no charge to you. We have provided 3 different options to participate in the recall.

Repair Process:



Any individual, regardless of where the unit was purchased, will be able to return the unit to one of these service centers. This is the quickest way for you to have the battery replaced. Many of these service centers may be able to perform the repair on a same day or next day basis. Consumers can find a full list of Authorized Recall Center locations. If you wish to return your clipper to a service center, please click HERE and fill out the brief form. An email will be sent to you with further instructions.

For those of you who don’t live near a service center, you will be able to return the unit directly to StyleCraft. To participate in the mail-in return option, you will be asked to remove the battery from the unit before sending the unit only (without the battery) back to us. Please watch this brief VIDEO for easy instructions on removing the battery. Once you have removed the battery, please click here for US/Domestic recall claims or click here for International recall claims to fill out a form (selecting “Mail-In Recall”) to receive an email with further instructions and your return shipping label.

To properly dispose of the battery, please go to the Environmental Protection Agency’s website which has easy instructions on how to dispose of the battery.

We are initiating a recall for the early versions of the Instinct Clipper due to a potential safety concern. After receiving a limited number of reports of the battery inside the Clipper overheating, we began an investigation to ensure the safety of our customers. The investigation led to the conclusion that inconsistencies in battery manufacturing for the lithium-ion batteries can lead to the potential thermal events. While only a small number of incidents have been reported, we believe it's our responsibility to address any potential risks and prioritize customer safety above all else.

If you live near one of our authorized recall centers (see list HERE), the battery can be replaced while you wait or in circumstances could take up to one day. Otherwise, customers can ship the Clippers back to us for battery replacement. Depending on shipping times, we estimate that the process will likely take between one (1) to three (3) weeks.

We are not offering refunds for the recalled Clippers.

We are glad you are enjoying your Clipper! Regardless of whether your Clipper is working currently, we advise customers to discontinue use of the affected Instinct Clippers and contact our customer service team to arrange for a battery replacement. Your safety is our top priority, and we appreciate your cooperation in ensuring a smooth recall process.

No. If the model or lot numbers of your Clipper are different from the recalled model/lot numbers, your product has a different battery construction. StyleCraft has not received any reports of overheating associated with those models and you can continue to enjoy using them.

The battery in the Clipper is soldered in place and not easily installable without the support of StyleCraft’s authorized service center professionals. For that reason, replacing the battery on your own is not an option.

The replacement battery is made by a different manufacturer and has gone through extensive testing by the manufacturer, our independent engineers, and by StyleCraft. This testing confirms our confidence in the safety of these batteries.

No. The replacement battery has the same specifications as the original battery and has been thoroughly tested for performance as well as safety.

Your warranty will remain intact. StyleCraft stands behind all of our products and participating in the recall will not impact your warranty.

Absolutely not. StyleCraft will replace the battery for free.
