BLADE DEFINITIONS
FIXED/STATIC BLADES
Both clippers and trimmers have fixed (also called static) and moving (also called cutting) blades. The reason why they are called Fixed/Static blades is that they don't move. Fixed/Static blades are used to comb and lift the hair so that the moving blade can grab and cut the hair.
Moving/cutting blades are the bottom blade and underneath the fixed blade. Moving blades oscilate back and forth horizontally to cut the hair. There are several different types of Fixed/Static and Moving/Cutting blades and all come in different materials as well.
MOVING/CUTTER BLADES
Both Clippers and Trimmers have "Moving" or "Cutter" blades that move back and forth to cut the hair. They come in different materials, and can have teeth that are slim, deep, or shallow.
MATERIAL
Black Diamond Carbon is our specialized material of diamond-like carbon that stays cooler, rust/corrosion-free, and sharper longer than traditional stainless steel blades. Ideal for coolest operation.
Gold Titanium is our high-hardness, durable material for blades and cutters that have hypoallergenic properties which are perfect for sensitive skin.
Japanese premium blades are made of the highest quality Stainless Steel which stays sharper, lasts longer, and is a harder material than standard steel.
Ceramic blades are one of the sharpest materials and stays sharper longer than any other material. It's often recommended to mix materials and use different material fixed and cutting blades for the ultimate performance.
SPECIFIC BLADES
CLIPPERS
FADE FIXED BLADE
A fixed Fade blade is typicall flat, thin, and great for taking out bald line during transition. Ideal for zero guide line fading and blending. Usually the sharpest, closest outside of a balding blade.
TAPER FIXED BLADE
A fixed Taper blade has a slight angle where the tips of the blade slope down a bit to help lift the hair when cutting, a thicker blade with ridges often used more for bulk cutting.
FAPER FIXED BLADE
The Faper blade is a hybrid between a fade and taper blade. It is thinner than a taper blade and similar to a fade blade in thickness but still has a ridges like a taper blade. Faper blades are great all-around blades, excellent for taking out the bald skin line and is our most popular fixed clipper blade.
DEEP SLIM MOVING BLADE
The Deep Slim tooth clipper blade is lightweight and is designed for faster blade movement and enhanced cutting performance. With longer teeth, smaller gaps between the teeth, it is great for all types of textured hair. Very good for edge-ups and detailing. It is our most popular moving cutter clipper blade!
SHALLOW TOOTH MOVING BLADE
Shallow tooth clipper moving blade is our lightest weight clipper blade. It is great with any combination of our fixed clipper blades for really close and smooth cutting.
TRIMMERS
FIXED CLASSIC BLADE
Classic fixed trimmer blade is a smaller trimmer T-Blade with a width of 40mm and is ideal for all general trimming. The special Japanese convex and hollow grinding process create a perfectly balanced blade for superior sharpness and extreme precision and can be fully adjustable zero gapped for the closest cut and finish.
FIXED WIDE BLADE
A Wide trimmer T-Blade is extra wide for more coverage that hangs excessively over the edge on each side of the trimmer more than a traditional sized trimmer fixed blade. Because it is wider it can cover larger surface areas and trim more hair faster.
"THE ONE" MOVING BLADE
"The One" deep tooth cutting blade gives the crunchiest, smoothest cutting with no pulling or snagging. Its lightweight and allows for faster performance. The beveled design cuts closer to the root of the hair and skin like a balding effect in place of using a razor. Add "The One" cutting blade to any S|C or Gamma+ trimmer with any fixed blade for a game-changing performance!
DEEP TOOTH MOVING BLADE
The Deep Tooth trimmer blade is great for bulk removal and very crunchy audible cutting for those that like to hear the sound of cutting. Longer teeth with wider gaps is perfect for all types of textured hair, especially coarse hair. Very good for removing bulk fast, all-purpose, and edge-ups.
SHALLOW TOOTH MOVING BLADE
The Shallow tooth blade is lightweight and is designed for faster blade movement and enhanced cutting performance. It has shorter teeth, smaller gaps, and great for sensitive skin. Very good for edge-ups and detailing, but not preferred for fast bulk removed.

THE ONE
StyleCraft or Gamma+ branded line of super sharp moving blades that are also great for bulk balding. "The One" deep tooth cutting blade gives the crunchiest, smoothest cutting with no pulling or snagging. Its lightweight and allows for faster performance.

PRO TIPS
BLADE MAINTENANCE
To maintain proper health and cleanliness to your blades, a regular cleaning with a blade or fade brush and using a dry cloth to wipe away excess is perfect for daily use and in between clients.
For deep cleaning, we recommend removing the blade from the tool (clipper, trimmer) wiping away excess debris, spraying with a disinfectant high-grade cleaner, wiping with a dry cloth, and adding a few drops of clipper/trimmer barber blade oil along the bottom of the teeth, not lower near the screw area. [For clippers, the oil should be applied while the clipper is moving, using 3 drops of oil. One on each side and one in the middle. Let the clipper run to lubricate the blades for 15 - 30 seconds. Shut off the clipper and wipe off any excess oil.]
*Failure to properly maintain your blade can result in skin irritation and cross contamination between clients possibly leading to infections.
BLADE ALIGNMENT
To align your blades, make sure that the movable top blade does not extend over the fixed bottom blade. If not installed properly, it can snag or drag on the skin.
Blade alignment is when the blades are parallel horizontally so that one edge of the cutting blade is not higher than the left or right side.
ZERO GAPPED
To Zero-gap is when the cutting blade is pushed up to match the fixed blade.
To achieve zero-gap on clippers, make sure your lever is in the shortest closed position and loosen the screws. Shift the fixed blade up or down to the desired gap. A true zero gap has no gap between the tip of the fixed blade and the moving blade. Once the blades are aligned to your liking tighten the screws again and check the blades for proper alignment. Do not over-tighten screws.
To achieve zero-gap on trimmers, remove both the fixed and moving blade. Loosen the screws of the moving blade which allows you to shift the moving blade up or down. In comparison to the fixed clipper blade depending on how tight you want your zero gap, shift the moving blade up or down but never past the fixed blade. If you want to achieve a true zero gap the tips of both blades are flush together. Once the blades are to your liking tighten the screws.
